Get Involved
We invite you to join one of our ministry groups here at Trinity.
Our Ministry Together
Ministry includes a variety of outreach initiatives, meetings and fellowship opportunities within our church community.
There are numerous opportunities for you to participate, serve others and grow in your spiritual journey. Our programs are rich in variety and we feel that we have a place for everyone.
If you would like to become more involved or have something to share with our faith community, we welcome you with open arms. To get started, please contact revlinda@trinityuc.ca
Trinity's Mission and Social Outreach
Trinity is an active and involved congregation that reaches out to those who are underprivileged or at-risk in our community and throughout the world. The M & S committee is responsible for the implementation of local outreach programmes and for accentuating the work of the United Church's Mission and Service Fund. They keep the congregation informed on how the fund is used and encourage its support by the church family. An informative Minute for Mission presentation is scheduled once a month during the worship service ... you will recognize the colourful hat worn by the speaker.

Trinity Missions
The M & S committee encourages support within the church for various local charities such as Inn From The Cold, the Food Pantry, and LAMP (our weekly lunch program). We also host three Friday Night Dinners at the Inn From the Cold which are funded, prepared and served by members and friends of the congregation. The Benevolent Fund is supported by the congregation and is used mostly for persons requiring immediate help who come to the church office. Other initiatives include the Christmas Mitten Tree and Soup and Bun Sundays featuring "Peace" soup. This busy committee meets once a month and new members are always welcome!
LAMP Meal Program
Our LAMP (Lunch ay My Place) take- out supper program continues to be highly successful and runs every Tuesday from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm. All meals are prepared on site and distributed at the Park Avenue door. We have hired a cook to ensure we provide a hot, nutritious and well balanced dinner. We continue to serve a population of unhoused or underhoused people or those who have food security issues. During a 43-week period in 2021, we distributed over 3,000 meals for an average of just over 70 dinners each week.
We have complemented the program by also having several donated clothing tables setup every Tuesday (outside of the Park Avenue doors) thanks to many appreciated contributions. We do keep our items seasonal so heavier clothing available during the winter months and lighter items on display throughout the warmer times of the year.
We are very grateful for all of our hard working volunteers and always enjoy meeting new people that come forward to help out (training is provided). We are especially short on those who have their current Food Handler’s Certificate as we must ensure at least 1 volunteer per shift is on-site with this status. If you are interested in learning more about our program and can commit to spending 3 hours of your time on a Tuesday, please contact Leslie Down at lddown@rogers.com.

Council and Committees
Trinity's Council (leaders) and standing committees are crucial to the work of the church, both the ongoing administrative functions as well as the intellectual and spiritual needs of our congregation and community. Every committee has a specific focus and each would welcome your participation. You do not have to be a leader to lend a helping hand. If you have any questions about the Council governance, or would like to serve on a committee, please contact the church office.
The Board of Trustees
While Council focuses on the continuing administrative and spiritual activities of the church, Trinity's Board of Trustees duties are to ensure that the property and investments of the church are adequately managed and protected in the present and for future generations.
