Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
I hope you are all safe and well.
Today’s worship moment is divided into two parts, based on Philippians 4:6 and a little bit of poetic license on my part. I hope you will journey through these sections and reflect with me.
Part 1: Prayer
Today’s scripture verse tells us that we need not worry (although I find that easier said than done), instead to pray about everything. So that in those times of anxiety we should reach out to our Heavenly Father hears all our prayers:
Jeremiah 29:12-13; "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
With this is mind, make a short list of things you are worried/anxious/concerned about and then take a quiet moment to talk to God about those concerns, before moving onto part 2.
Part 2: Thankfulness
The second part of the scripture reminds us to be mindful and thankful in our prayers, for all that He has done. To remember the times when He provided an answer, a sign, the right medicine, the right person to help.
Make a second list of these things and then take a second quiet moment to thank Him for all he has done.
If, you have time. I thought it would be lovely if we as a united Church could reach out to the local care homes around Newmarket and flood them with positive messages of support and thanks. For example, could you write a small email thanking the staff at the local care home for all they are doing to protect vulnerable people. I will then collate them and send them off to them. I am also open to other suggestions to thank people too, so please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Love and blessings,
