Yesterday, today and forever.
The Stable story is the same.
Jesus is the same.
The idea for a Covid inspired Nativity play came to me in late October. I was thinking back on last years Christmas Pageant, with all the children crowded around the stage in oversized costumes and tinsel. Such a precious memory, who knew back then, just how different life today would be?
That lead to the thought that when Jesus was born there was a lot of upheaval too. The world had been waiting on God for around 400, they heard nothing. In addition to that, everyone was told to go to their hometown to sign a census. In the days where the biggest horse power was a Horse! That could have taken some people weeks.
Then, just before this huge homeward bound migration, Mary and Joseph's life are turned completely upside down. She was lucky not to be killed!
So the world was waiting.
Everyone was told to go home.
People were displaced.
Accommodations were so full they were closed.
Everything changed for Mary and Joseph.
Hence, the Same Stable was born. With the help and cuteness of the Trinity Children and Young people, a socially distant Pageant was made. You might agree, after such a long time of not being able to see the kids, it warmed my heart piecing it together, watching their confident little performances create a unified story.
Thank you to all the Children, the young people and the parents that took time to make this years pageant so special. It really was a Christmas gift to watch, I hope you were blessed by it to.
Here it is if you wish to relive the Trinity magic again :)
