Worship Moments April 20

Yesterday I reflected on the ways that we nurture our spirits and our faith in these days. One way that I take time to nurture my spirit is to light candle and read and pray some of my favourite hymns. Here are three that I turn to often to sing and pray. May these words become prayers of your hearts.

M.V. 79 Spirit Open my Heart by Ruth Duck

Spirit open my heart, to the joy and pain of living. As you love may I love, in receiving and in giving. Spirit open my heart. God replace my stony heart, with a heart that is kind and tender. All my coldness and fear, to your grace I now surrender. Spirit open my heart. Write your name upon my heart as my law, my goal, my story, In each thought word, and deed, may my living bring you glory.

Spirit open my heart May I weep with those who weep, share the joy of sister, brother. In welcome of Christ, may we welcome one another Spirit open my heart to the joy and pain of living. As you love may I love, in receiving and in giving. Spirit open my heart.

M.V. 85 Take, O Take Me as I Am by John L Bell. Graham Maule

Take, o take me as I am; summon out what I shall be; Set your seal upon my heart and live in me.

V.U.766 As the Deer Pants for the Water by Martin Nysrom

As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after You You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship you. You alone are my strength, my shield To You alone may my spirit yield You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship You I want you more than gold and silver only You can satisfy; You alone are the real joy-giver and the apple of my eye You alone are my strength, my shield To You alone may my spirit yield You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship You You're my Friend and You are my brother even though You are a King I love You more then any other so much more then anything

You alone are my strength, my shield To You alone may my spirit yield You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship You As the deer pants for the water so my soul longs after You You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship You You alone are my strength, my shield To You alone may my spirit yield You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship You.

May God’s peace be with you today and every day Blessings
