March 18 COVID Update

March 18, 2020 Dear Friends;

Last evening, the Leadership Team met via Zoom. Each person in their own home and all of us connected by the computer. It was the first time we met in this format and it will not be the last, in the weeks to come the Leadership Team will continue to meet in this way. Our Team made the decision to close Trinity to the public effective immediately. Although the building is closed, we are still a Church. The current situation regarding the Covid-19 virus is being monitored continuously, and alternative means of staying connected with each other shall be maintained, such as our website Worship Moments at Ideas for creative group worship from a distance are gratefully being accepted. This is a good time to try out other ways of connecting using the amazing electronic tools we have these days. We thank our skilled volunteers who are helping with communication strategies to keep us all connected.

For Pastoral Care please call Rev. Linda at the church office at (905) 895-4851 or by email at Jackie is managing our office remotely. You may reach her by telephone or by email at The staff are continuing to work together and reaching out to the congregation using all available resources. Trinity United Church has postponed Sunday in-person worship, LAMP, and all other programs until further notice. The organizations who rent space at Trinity have postponed or made alternate arrangements for their meetings and business activity for the time being. Staying connected maybe easier than you thought. Have you signed up yet for our website members’ access? Check out how we can chat using our website members’ Forum page. While the building is not being used to its fullest potential at this time, Trinity will continue to need financial contributions to meet its obligations. Your givings will continue to be used as instructed by you and alternative methods from the Sunday basket are available. Offerings may be made in a variety of ways, which include;

  • Calling the office to set up Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) debited regularly and directly from your bank account;

  • Using the online donation platform for Trinity United Church at https://

  • Pick up by one of our Leadership Team (and some conversation over a tea if all are well and able);

- E-transfer facilitated by our Treasurer with the details to be arranged through the office. The following is the updated procedures for Trinity United Church at this time of caution.
